MARS – the second VON AU collection has landed. With this collection the young label expands its design vocabulary, drawing a deliberate contrast to the soft, sinuous lines of the previous collection, KADABRA. Inspired by NASA’s images of Mars, the new collection reflects the rugged surface of the red planet and embodies its mysterious appeal. The pieces play with duality, both in the contrast between the materials iron and silver, as well as in their form: distant and near, familiar and alien, sleek and rough.
Go with the flow of the label’s first collection, Kadabra, and its take on silver in flux. Soft shapes contrast the material’s stark and striking shimmer, while the formal DNA engulfs the body with its own aligned flow. The collection comprises a range of different rings and studs as well as a bangle and chain to be worn as a bracelet, necklace or anklet.
The label VON AU was founded in 2016 by Sebastian Vonderau. After almost ten years as a designer for various jewellers and jewellery labels, he presented the label for the first time in March 2016 during Paris Fashion Week. The first collection went on sale in December 2016. All pieces were produced exclusively in Austria.
